My heart is moved in this moment more than it has been in a long time. Let me explain.
I just finished listening to a message on the missionary to Burma, Adoniram Judson preached by John Piper. He emphasized two passages throughout:
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” – John 12:24 ESV
“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” – Matthew 10:16 ESV
God’s plan is that we go into hostile territory and die…and bear fruit. I think that idea is what moved me so. It’s not that I don’t agree with it, it’s that I know it to be true in my heart of hearts, and I am confident that God will use my daily deaths for His glory. This is an overwhelming thought.
I pray that you will carve out an hour to listen/read this message for yourself, listening to the Spirit as He directs you on His mission.
